The special flight PR5434 utilizing an Airbus A321 departed Cebu at around 10:06am carrying 184 passengers who have been stranded due to the ECQ which have resulted to all local airlines cancelling their regular scheduled flights.

PAL's Cebu hub has been active since March 20 operating a total of 8 special flights from Cebu to Tokyo carrying Japanese tourists. This special flight from Cebu to Japan was organized by the Japanese embassy in Manila.

To ensure their protection and safety against CoviD-19, PAL cabin crew were provided with Personal Protective Equipment which they use during these special flights.

PAL has been mounting special flights to ferry back stranded tourists and to bring back Filipinos to the country. Just last April 7, PAL operated a special flight between Manila and London. Today, the airline flew three special flights between Manila to Canada.
