The reason for the delay is most likely due to the coronavirus outbreak which has caused the plummet of air travel demand also brought by government imposed travel restrictions and lockdowns. PAL has suspended all scheduled commercial passenger flights since March due to the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in place.

PAL is looking to operate three weekly flights between Manila and Perth utilizing the A321neo aircraft.

Flight PR223 departs Manila at 12:05am local time which will arrive at Perth at 7:20am local time. The return flight PR224 departs Perth at 8:40am local time and arrives Manila 3:50pm local time.

Perth shall become the airline's forth destination in Australia following Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane.

PAL is also looking to resume commercial passenger services on June 1 depending on prevailing conditions and government imposed travel restrictions.
