Passengers aboard AirAsia sweeper flight clap with joy after arriving at Ozamiz

Around 151 Misamis Occidental residents who were stranded in Manila for around 3 months clapped when their AirAsia sweeper flight from Manila landed at Ozamiz Airport.

The passengers include stranded OFW repatriates and non-OFWs. The sweeper flight was arranged by the Misamis Occidental provincial government.

Prior to the flight, all passengers had to undergo a rapid CoviD-19 test conducted by the Department of Health (DOH). Those with negative results will be allowed to board the aircraft. However, seven repatriates tested positive in which they were not allowed to board the flight.

It is normal for passengers to applaud especially after the aircraft arrives from an ultra-long haul flight at a home country. Despite this flight being a short hours away from Manila via air, these passengers clapped for the fact they are already home after 3 long months of being away from their domicile.
