Vietnam Airlines operate very first flight to the United States

History has just been made as Vietnam Airlines flew its very first flight to the United States. A Boeing 787-10 of Vietnam Airlines landed in San Francisco last May 7 to bring Vietnamese citizens back to their country.

VN1 from all the way from Hanoi to San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The Boeing 787-10 is not capable of doing a direct straight flight from San Francisco to Hanoi fully loaded, thus, the flight had to make a stop at Anchorage, Alaska.

SFO's Twitter account happily welcomed the very first Vietnam Airlines to the United States. "Today is a historic day at SFO as we welcomed the very first VietnamAirlines passenger flight to the United States! This repatriation flight is being operated on one of Vietnam Airlines new Boeing 787-10 aircraft. SFO is proud to welcome this special flight" it said.

Vietnam Airlines' 787-10 is equipped with 367 seats, divided by 24 business class and 343 economy class seats.

Vietnam Airlines has been eyeing flights to the United States ever since Vietnam received an category 1 rating by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
