PAL suspends Manila domestic flights amid MECQ over NCR

Philippine Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of all its domestic flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila after the government imposed a Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) over Metro Manila.


The suspension of NAIA domestic flights will last during the duration of the MECQ which is from August 4 to 18. 

In an advisory, PAL said that International flights to and from Manila shall continue to operate, subject to further guidelines from the authorities in line with quarantine capacity and related arrangements.

Domestic flights from Clark, Cebu, and Davao remain operational

PAL domestic flights from its other hubs which include Cebu, Clark, and Davao remain unaffected as the MECQ was only reimposed in the NCR.

All affected passengers of these canceled domestic flights have options to rebook, refund or convert their ticket into a travel voucher.


During the past few days, the number of new Covid-19 cases from Metro Manila has been averaging 2,000 where the whole country has been seeing new cases of nearly 5,000 for the past three days. Nearby provinces from the NCR has also been experiencing a surge in the number of new Covid-19 cases.
