AirAsia expands domestic network to Zamboanga

 An AirAsia Philippines aircraft took its maiden flight from Manila to Zamboanga yesterday, October 27. The flight, Z2651 landed in Zamboanga at 3:05, with an actual flying time of 1 hour 20 minutes.

In a post from AirAsia Philippines spokesperson Steve Dailisan, the airline's CEO Ricky Isla said, ”We are excited to celebrate this milestone as we paint Asia's Latin City’s skies red. As the second largest city in Mindanao and the sixth most populous in the Philippines, this new destination will pave the way for expansive connectivity, bringing Filipino families closer together, and providing more opportunities across provinces in support of the local government’s vision to be the Asean economic hub in Southwestern Mindanao.

Amidst the pandemic, AirAsia Philippines continues to aggressively expand its network and restore its services gradually. Today, the airline is set to take its maiden flight to the "Tuna Capital of the Philippines" otherwise known as General Santos City.

AirAsia Philippines has been giving out promo fares with the goal of restoring passenger confidence in air travel and to further boost tourism activities which was badly hit by the effects of the covid-19 pandemic. It looks like however that all is going as planned as the airline has observed a 50% increase in booking for 2021.
