Sriwijaya Air SJ182 crash: What might have happened

While we were all looking forward to a brighter 2021 especially for the aviation industry, the world was greeted by an air disaster. Last January 9, 2021, a Boeing 737-500 belonging to Sriwijaya Air crashed at the Java Sea just a few minutes after it took-off from Jakarta.

There were 50 passengers and 12 crew in which 6 are operating and the other 6 were deadheading. No one survived.

While the investigation is still ongoing and there are still no official results on what really happened, a YouTube channel named The Flight Channel (TFC) recreated what happened.

TFC said in a comment on its post, "however, please note that some animations might not be 100% accurate as the accident occurred just five days ago, and there is not much data available. As soon as more information is released, I’ll make a new, more accurate, video. Also, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones on board flight 182."

This basically just shows you how the aircraft may have rolled and crashed but it does not say anything what on what caused the 737 to dive.
