Last June 30, 2018, flightradar24 posted a picture showing that they were able to track 214,000+ airplanes the whole day with 19,000+ in a single given time. We decided to download the app and see for ourselves. Today, we tried to monitor flights via the same app and here's what we got. We monitored the air traffic above the Philippines and Asia. Those yellow airplane icons represent actual airplane movements that time the screenshots were taken. Those blue pins are airports.
Even if air travel is deemed safe and every safety measure has been undertaken, accidents may still happen as airplanes are still man-made objects defying the laws of gravity and susceptible to nature's wrath. Anything can still happen especially during take off and landing. This is the reason why you have cabin crew members on board, so incase the unfortunate happens, they are able to get you off the ill-fated aircraft blemish free as much as possible in less than 90 seconds.
We all hate delayed flights. As passengers, we do have a schedule also to follow when we get to our destination and a delayed flight would ruin everything. Of course, this is something we do not like. Guess what, airlines hate delays too. Pilots hate delays. Flight attendants hate delays. Ground crew hate delays. In most cases, this is something beyond their control and they are also under strict instructions to follow certain protocol for the safety and security of all passengers.
