The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) has turned over the operations and maintenance (O&M) of the Clark International Airport to the Luzon International Premier Airport Development (LIPAD) Corporation last August 16, 2019. DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade and BCDA President and CEO Vivencio Dizon led the turnover ceremony with LIPAD Corp President and CEO Bi Yong Chungunco.
Hong Kong's Chep Lap Kok International Airport, one of the world's busiest, was brought down to a halt yesterday as thousand of pro-democracy protesters stormed the main terminal. Over 150 flights in and out the airport were cancelled as a result of the protest while thousand of passengers were stranded.

Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific's on-time performance (OTP) significantly improved 2 weeks after signing a Pledge of Commitment to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Aviation and Airports Sector, based on a report from the Philippine transportation agency. PAL's OTP improved from 60% in April 2019 to nearly 80% of June according to PAL Vice President for Flight Operations Captain Stanley Ng.
Beijing's newest airport, Daxing International Airport, was finally completed last June 30, 2019 and should start operations by September 30 of the same year. The airport will have 4 quad runways and should expect to handle 72 million passengers by 20205. This Beijing Daxing International Airport will become China's biggest comprehensive transportation hub.
