We just find it strange how people complain about better services, flight delays, and anything they can complain of under the sun but the very same do not know how to follow simple instructions and rules. Moreso, they remain defiant! This is a picture from Francis Arjonillo of the PPSG or Philippine Plane Spotters Group. Seen here are passengers standing up to get their luggage and quickly line-up for the door while the fasten seatbelt signs are on.
So we ask, is there an award for the person who gets off the aircraft first? Or maybe, do these people think that buying a plane ticket makes them more smart and better knowing than the pilots and cabin crew who went through intensive training for months and years?
It is clearly repeated numerous times in every flight that we should not stand-up and get our luggage while the fasten seatbelt sign is on due to safety reasons. This is repeated like three to four times during the flight. It is even written in the safety card. Despite how many times this is said, many passenger defy and don't listen to their cabin crew. But wait, if it's the cabin crew who denies a passenger something due to safety reasons, they complain like though it is the end of the world to the point of even resorting to misleading social media posts.
Safety is paramount and should be taken seriously.
So why is it very important that we follow that fasten seatbelt sign?
Inside the aircraft, obeying policies and safety procedures are not an option, they are a MANDATE, regardless of how many miles you have accrued and how much your plane ticket cost.
Your flight attendants and pilots went through months to years of rigorous training. Your one hour research in Google is nothing compared to the knowledge the flight attendants and pilots have gained, add also the experience gained.
So please obey all safety instructions and procedures. It saves lives.
