After being approved by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) for evening operations, the Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) may start serving international flights. In a report, Vice Governor Rene Relampagos told media that BPIA will initially extend its operations up to 10:00pm. It currently operates only from 6:00am to 6:00pm.
“It’s only a matter of time na ma-fully utilize nato ang atong airport sa Panglao,” said Relampagos.
Three airlines have already expressed intent to operate international flights from the airport. This will connect Bohol to more international destinations. Prior to this, passengers originating from or flying to international destinations will need to go through Mactan City International Airport in Cebu before connecting to Bohol.
