More trouble for Boeing! The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) has filed a lawsuit versus Boeing for US$100-million for deliberately misleasing pilots about the 737 Max. Southwest is the largest operator of the Boeing 737 Max aircraft with 34 Max 8 on its present and orders of 246 Max 8 and 30 Max 7 jets. SWAPA represents around 10,000 pilots of Southwest Airlines.
Capt. Bryan Knight of Southwest Airlines was just 5 years old when he last saw his father, Col. Roy Knight Jr., alive for the last time at Dallas Love Field Airport in 1967. Col. Knight was an Air Force pilot who fought in the Vietnam War. He was shot down over Laos later that year. He was declared killed in action in 1974 after search efforts failed to find him.
Two Southwest aircraft struck each other during pushback at Nashville International Airport last Saturday night, the airline has confirmed. The winglet of one aircraft came into contact with the other plane on the tarmac of the airport. There were no injuries reported though both aircraft were pulled back to their respective gates and were later on taken out of service for maintenance evaluation.
