Cebu Pacific will not be resuming international flights yet after the Philippine government's Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on the COVID-19 situation has lifted the travel ban on international flights. The airline announced it is suspending all its passenger flight operations beginning March 19 until April 14.
"There is no plan to do this at the moment, but we will continue to monitor and assess the situation. While the updates from the IATF on the Aviation protocols allow us to mount international flights, we need to prioritize the safety and health of our personnel, support for local and national government restrictions on land travel and quarantine, as well as directives from governments in other jurisdictions," said Charo Logarta Lagamon, Cebu Pacific Spokesperson.
The number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines has reached 202 as of today, prompting the IATF to implement the Enhanced Community Quarantine over Luzon. Domestic air travel in and out of any airport in the Luzon region has been restricted forcing airlines to cancel all domestic flights.
