Low-cost airline Cebu Pacific has announced the cancellation of all its mainland China flights beginning February 2 to March 29, 2020 as a result of the recent developments of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak. The airline has also announced the reduction of flights between the Philippines to Hong Kong, and Macau.
In a media release, Cebu Pacific is cancelling its flights between the Philippines and major cities in mainland China where it flies to namely Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen on the aforementioned dates.
The airline has advised its passengers regarding the flight cancellations through the contact details provided during booking.
Cebu Pacific is also providing affected passengers the options to rebook the flight (new flight date within 30 days of original travel date), refund the tickets in full, and store the value of the ticket in a Travel Fund for future use.
The airline also advises its passengers to also check the status of their flights through the Manage Booking portal in the Cebu Pacific website, https://book.cebupacificair.com/Manage/Retrieve/.
Airlines around the world have been cancelling and reducing their respective flights to and from mainland China to prevent the further spread of the 2019-nCoV. There are presently 11,948 cases worldwide and 259 lives claimed as of this writing.
