The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has suspended operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) as ash from the Taal Volcano phreatic eruption which occured just this afternoon. The airport has been declared closed from 7:00pm to 11:00pm today, January 12. Flights departing Manila between those times have been cancelled. Flights arriving have been diverted.
Passengers are now advised to coordinate with their respective airlines for updates.
The ashfall from Taal Volcano which is approximately 85 kilometers from Metro Manila have almost covered the region.
