Philippine Airlines (PAL) has flown the most number of international passengers while Cebu Pacific has captured 50% of the total number of domestic passengers flown from the first to third quarter of 2019. In the report of the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), PAL flew 5,769,647 international passengers from the months of January to September 2019. Cebu Pacific flew 4,416,704 international passengers on the same period.
These numbers are only for scheduled flights. Chartered flights are not included in this report.
Philippines AirAsia falls in 3rd in terms of most number of international passengers carried which is at 1,890,326. The total number of international passengers flown is at 22,803,508 for the period of January to September 2019.
Other Philippine-based carriers flying international passengers are Astro Air Inc., operator of Pan Pacific Airlines which has flown 217,243 passengers and Royal Air Charter Service flying 8,364 on the same period.
Philippine-based carriers have flown a total of 12,302,284 international passengers while 10,501,244 belong to foreign airlines flying in and out the Philippines.
On the other hand, Cebu Pacific flew 9,708,079 while its interisland subsidiary CebGo flew 1,447,482 from January to September 2019. Combined, both Cebu Pacific and CebGo have flown a total of 11,155,561 domestic passengers on the same period, easily capturing 50.38% of the total number of domestic passengers flown on the same period by all airlines in the Philippines which is is 22,141,461,
PAL Group domestic subsidiary PAL Express flew 5,376,252 passengers falling second to Cebu Pacific while Philippines AirAsia have flown 3,892,742 for the period of January to September 2019. Philippine Airlines mainline flew 1,227,703 domestic passengers.
The PAL Group captured 30% of the total number of domestic passengers flown for the 1st to 3rd quarter of 2019.
Other domestic airlines include Magnum Air Inc., operator of boutique airline Skyjet flying 151,925 passengers, Royal Air Charter Services flying 81,578, and AirSwift 243,960 passengers.
The statistics for the whole year of 2019 has yet to be released by the CAB.
