Philippine Airlines (PAL) is leading in terms of Philippine international passengers flown from January to June 2019. In a report by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), PAL has flown 3,830,963 from January to June of this year. Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) follows with 2,979,553 passengers, then Philippines AirAsia (PAA) with 1,251,085. Last 2018, Philippine Airlines flew 7,444,269 international passengers.
Based on the report, a total of 15,310,647 international passengers were flown from the said time period where 8,194,752 passengers were flown by local airlines and 7,115,895 were flown by foreign airlines.
These numbers translates to PAL owning 25% of the Philippine international passenger market, and CEB taking 19.4%. The numbers are expected to increase towards December to February of the following year due to the holiday season.
Since 2010, PAL has always lead in terms of international passengers flown to and from the Philippines.
