Philippines AirAsia (PAA), a subsidiary of the AirAsia Group, has carried more passengers this 3rd quarter of 2019 as compared to the same period last year. PAA carried 2,107,387 passengers from July to September of this year, compared to 1,579,035 last 2018, a 33% increase. Capacity has also increased 2,058,120 in 2018 to 2,453,940 of this year, a 19% jump. Average load factor has also increased from 77% to 86%.
The increase was brought by the commencement of more international routes particularly from Clark International Airport and an increase in frequency for both domestic and international sectors.
The increase in capacity was also brought by the addition of 3 Airbus A320 in the PAA fleet, bringing the total number of aircraft to 24 this year from 21 last year.
