Tigerair Taiwan has announced the cancellation of its Philippines - Taiwan services from February 15 to March 31 amid a controversial directive from the Philippine that bans the entry of anyone regardless of nationality (except for Filipino citizens and holders of Permanent Resident Visa in the Philippines issued by the Philippine government) travelling from Taiwan.
The thrice weekly flights from Taiwan to Kalibo, Cebu, and Puerto Princesa utilizing Airbus A320 have been cancelled beginning February 15 to March 20.
The travel restriction issued by the Philippine government was originally only for travelers coming from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau, in an effort to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Taiwan was later included.
Other airlines like Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, and AirAsia have already cancelled flights between Philippines and Taiwan. KLM has not made an announcement with regards to its Manila - Taiwan - Amsterdam services.
