In a time of crisis, fingerpointing is a no-way means to solve a problem. The best way is for everyone to help in solving a crisis. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak is fast spreading and the Philippines currently has its first case with one death as per the country's Department of Health (DOH). The Chinese couple from Wuhan was said to have travelled on those three to and within the Philippines..
These air Cebu Pacific flight 5J241 from Hong Kong to Cebu and DG6519 from Cebu to Dumaguete on January 21; and Philippine Airlines flight PR2542 from Dumaguete to Manila on January 25. The confirmed case who travelled on these flights is a Chinese woman, 38 years old, alive.
To halt the spread of the virus, efforts to get in touch with the passengers on those flights have been made to proceed to the San Lazaro Hospital, the Bureau of Quarantine, or nearest hospital for a check and quarantine process. The positive case was asymptomatic, hence, it is feared that other passengers on those flights may be potential carriers of the virus.
In a Senate hearing yesterday, the DOH said that only 58 of the total number of passengers have been contacted.
We join the nation in pleading to all other passengers on those flights to please Voluntarily present yourself, have a check and quarantine just to be sure that you are not a carrier and to prevent the further spread of the 2019-nCoV.
If anyone of you reading this personally know any of these passengers, please do request them to voluntarily present themselves to authorities. There is indeed no harm and doing so and it is also for the peace of mind of the passengers and those around them.
Lets all help out. Fingerpointing will never solve a problem. Being proactive will.
