When buong pusong alaga also extends to our furry friends. A man travelling from the United States to Thailand was very elated with Philippine Airlines's service especially that he was travelling with two service dogs. Adam Francisco was travelling from New York JFK to Bangkok via Philippine Airlines flight when he shared his flight experience enthusiastically, highlighting how PAL made things easy for him.
More than that, Francisco noted that the PAL cabin crew and airport staff made sure that both him and his dogs are well taken cared of, his dogs being treated as passengers equally.
In his blog Befreemysheeple.com, Francisco said, "Traveling with pets internationally is generally a complicated and complex process which requires a ton of paperwork. Not only that, as there is no direct flight from USA to Thailand, I have to transit through specific cities. Places like Hong Kong, Korea, China and Taiwan are very difficult to transit through as they require advance import permits (link), some of which you have to somehow secure in person before your trip (which makes absolutely no sense to me)."
"The 3 countries that I have found the easiest to transit are Russia, Japan and the Philippines as they all allow dogs to transit the airport with nothing more than a heads up from the airlines that you’ll be bringing dogs with you. Keep in mind that if you transit the airports in Japan, your dogs must remain in their cages. They do have a bathroom for dogs but it’s for service dogs only," he continued.
Francisco shared that he called the PAL customer service a week prior to his flight to put his service pets on his itinerary. Upon arriving at JFK, the PAL check-in counter staff were expecting Francisco with his service dogs. After presenting all documents, the passenger was issued his ticket.
Francisco also shared that after experiencing a very fast and hassle free check-in, the gate agent upgraded the passenger's seat, being given an entire row all to him and his dogs! Upon boarding, the dogs all got their own seat which caught the hearts of the cabin crew.
Based on his story, Francisco also noticed how transfer was a breeze upon arriving in Manila to connect to Bangkok. The passenger was provided his own assistant by the airline to help him go through animal quarantine as part of airline standard operating procedures. Francisco was very happy about the seemless service.
Francisco also recognized that improvement of NAIA noting its cleanliness.
Things still did not end there as Francisco was given a whole row to himself again for his PAL Manila to Bangkok flight. In his blog, Francisco said, "the Philippine Airlines crew were all very attractive men and women! Everyone spoke fluent English and made the entire experience memorable. Both airplanes I took were brand new with highly-responsive TVs on the headrests. No fumbling with the screens to try and press the buttons. The one thing I did notice that wasn’t present was the personal air conditioning vents that most planes have but this wasn’t an issue as the cabins were a pleasant temperature."
At the end of his write-up, Francisco said, "they (PAL) have a customer for life."
Kudos Philippine Airlines!
